Sentencing Trends for Misdemeanor Battery
The following sentencing trends are for misdemeanor battery under Wis. Stat. § 940.10(1) as well as the newly renumbered statute § 940.60(1). The data covers Brown County from the year 2024 through to the middle of 2026. The graphs begin with simple misdemeanor battery with no charge modifiers or enhancers followed by those with the domestic abuse assessment and concluding with those with the repeater penalty enhancer. Each variable is controlled as best as possible. For example, bottom two sets of graphs separate the domestic abuse assessment from the repeater penalty enhancer.
